The 17th Everest marathon has been scheduled for Sunday. This year the marathon is being organized under the slogan "Mount Everest 8848.86m Marathon 2022". The earthquake witnessed in Nepal in 2015 resulted in increasing the height of Mount Everest by almost a metres and the aforementioned slogan is celebratory of the same. The Everest Marathon is expected to promote international tourism in Nepal. Along with Nepal, the marathon will host participants from 25 other nations as well. Among some of the highlights of the marathon is the participation of Sai Sudhir Kawde, aged 13, in the world's highest altitude race. Similarly, a number of high-profile national and international climate activists, diplomats and philanthropists too will participate in this marathon.
