3-day adventurous skydiving event to promote tourism in Pokhara POKHARA: Popular tourist destination Pokhara is hosting a three-day skydiving programme from Friday. Altogether 21 foreigners and Nepali people are participating in the event organised at Lauruk, an end of Phewa Lake in Pokhara. The programme is organised by Everest Sky Dive Pvt. Ltd. According to programme coordinator Krishna Aryal, participates from India, Germany, Malaysia and Nepal are participating in the programme. Out of total participants, 13 are Indians. A Nepali participant has to pay Rs 75,000 for the event while a foreigner is charged USD 800 (around Rs 80,000). The diving above the height of 15,000 metre has been managed with a Fishtail Air helicopter. Earlier, the company had tested skydives at Balewa Airpot of Baglung also. Wendy Smith, a famous sky diver from New Zealand, informed that to skydive while seeing the greenery, lakes and mountains is a great experience. Another skydiver, Swami Prakash from Tamil Nadu of India, also shared the similar feeling. The programme is not a competition, rather it is organised to promote tourism activities in the Lake City, informed Suman Pandey, Chairman of Event Explorer Himalaya.
