42 climbers scale Mount Everest in three days KATHMANDU:As many as 42 climbers have scaled the Mount Everest in past three days, a government official said. Chief of the Mountaineering Section at the Department of Tourism, Gyanendra Shrestha, said 27 climbers including 13 Nepalis reached the top of the world's highest peak (8848 m) today. Earlier on Thursday, six including three Nepalis had ascended the summit, the Rastriya Samachar Samiti quoted Shrestha as saying. Nine Nepali Sherpas had reached the top of the worldon Wednesday for the first time in last three years. Shrestha added that dozens of the mountaineers have arrived at the Camp IV currently and they would reach the summit on Saturday. As many as 34 expeditions teams are in the Everest region currently aspiring to scale the world's highest mountain.
