50 injured as police, Maoists clash KATHMANDU: At least 50 UCPN-Maoist CA members have been injured when they clashed with police personnel at the southern gate of Singha Durbar during the gherao of the second phase of their protest programme on Thursday afternoon. The situation in Bijuli Bazaar, Maitighar and Anamnagar is tense due to the clash. According to sources, the clash erupted when the Maoists tried to enter the prohibited areas and the police used tear gas shells to control the situation. Maoist Constituent Assembly (CA) members Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Sushma Ghimire, Bhagat Badawal, Amik Sherchan, Rupa Chaudhari, Mahendra Shrestha and other CA members were injured in the clash. The injured are undergoing treatment at Everest Hospital and Bir Hospital in Kathmandu.
