According to Himalayan Shepherd Pvt Ltd, Tenzing along with record-holding climber Pemba Dorje Sherpa stood atop Mt Lhotse at around 4:30 am.
Following the footsteps of his grandfather, Tenzing, 24, has also dedicated Lhotse climb to Ang Rita, the 'snow leopard'. Tenzing, who lives in California, the USA with his family, scaled Mt Everest last year under the Snow Leopard Ang Rita Sherpa Memorial Everest Expedition.
"Before heading towards Lhotse, Pemba Dorje, Managing Director at Himalayan Shepherd, and Tenzing scaled Mt Ama Dablam on April 18," the expedition organizer said.
Tenzing aims to climb all 14 peaks above 8,000m to inspire the younger generation to study and experience mountain life.
Tenzing's grandfather Ang Rita is the only person to have climbed Mt Everest for 10 times without using supplementary oxygen. "Tenzing wants to acknowledge the hardship of his ancestors by climbing mountains," Pemba Dorje said, adding that he also wanted to establish a museum in his ancestral home village in the memory of Ang Rita.
