Beach Cricket Festival set for Kurintar KATHAMNDU: Shangri-La Cricket Academy is all set to organise the first Beach Cricket Festival-2010 at the Riverside Spring Resort in Kurintar in March-April. The festival includes three seperate events to be held in weekends. Nepal Ice Beach Cricket will be played on March 26 and 27, Indo-Nepal Beach Cricket is slated for April 9 and 10, and third Inter-Bank Beach Cricket will be held on April 16 and 17. UNDP, ICIMOD, UNOHCHR, FHI, WWF, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Everest Casino, The Himalayan Times, Chaudhary Group, ATTIC Bar, AD Factor, Nepal Telecom and Nepal Filmstar Team led by Ashok Sharma are the confirmed teas for the Nepal Ice Beach Cricket, the organisers informed. Actor and director Sharma said Rajesh Hamal and Rekha Thapa have already confirmed their participation for the tournament. Actress Namrata Shrestha, who is the Goodwill Ambassador of the event, and formor miss Nepal Malvika Subba were also present on the occasion. Nepal Tourism Board is promoting the event under the Nepal Tourism Year-2011, informed the Shangri-La Cricket Academy Director Aamir Akhtar. Five members will form a team in the five-over-a-side match.
