Book on scribe’s Everest expedition released
Tashi Tenzing Sherpa, the grandson of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, one of the first two men to scale Mt Everest, released a book Deadline Chomolongma written by journalist Ang Chhering Sherpa amidst a programme here today.
Speaking at the programme, Tashi Tenzing said the publication of the book has created history because, earlier, only Western mountaineers used to share their experiences through books.
He said, “Now the Western people can share the experience through the Nepali eyes.”
Ang Chhering Sherpa, the writer of the book, said, “Mountaineering is more adventure than entertainment.”
He added that he has tried to assemble his experiences while scaling Mt Everest.
Bishnu Nisthuri, president of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, said the book is a great achievement in the field of journalism as well.
