British climber Kenton Cool scales Mt Everest for 14th time breaking own record KATHMANDU:A renowned British climber scaled the world’s highest mountain for the 14th time breaking his own British record for the most Mt Everest summits early this morning. According to Iswari Poudel, Managing Director at Himalayan Guides Nepal Pvt Ltd, Kenton Cool from Gloucestershire, South West England, has broken his own British record for the most summits of the world’s highest peak. Cool along with fellow climber Michael Lavelle reached the summit point at around 3:15 am, he said. Cool guided Citibank’s chief Lavelle, also head of the corporate and investment banking for the UK and Ireland at Citigroup Inc, to the top of Mt Everest, he added. In the last spring season, Cool guided Ben Fogle, a renowned British TV presenter and UN Environment Patron of the Wilderness and Mountain Hero, to the Mt Everest summit. Three Sherpa climbers - Dorji Gyaljen, Kam Dorchi and Tenji - also successfully stood atop the mountain. “It’s Dorji Gyaljen’s second summit on Mt Everest this season as he reached the summit on Tuesday being a part of the rope-fixing team,” Paudel shared.
