Capital opens doors to KIMFF KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIM-FF) has begun in the Capital. The inaugural function was held at the Russian Culture Centre on December 7. A second inaugural function is scheduled for December 8 at Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) at 1:00 pm, the other venue for KIMFF this year. The third KIMFF venue is Gurukul. Seventy-films from 26 countries will be screened at the five-day festival, which will highlight films that has something to do with mountains and mountain life. The audience will get to witness different genres of films at KIMFF. All the 73 films, including a KIMFF retrospective (four films) on the late Indian filmmaker of Nepali origin Narain Singh Thapa, and 15 from Canada’s premier mountain film festival Banff will be screened at the Russian centre, while select screenings will take place at Gurukul and NTB. Tickets are priced at Rs 30.
