Heli Everest chopper with the call sign 9N-AMB piloted by senior captain Priya Adhikari crashed near Dhaulagiri base camp, Heli Everest officials confirmed. Captain Adhikari was ferrying cargo from the Italian Base Camp to Dhaulagiri Base Camp when incident occurred, they said, adding that she survived the crash.
The chopper took off from IBC at around 11:00am and went missing after flying for 1.6 nautical miles.
Lakpa Sherpa, Heli Everest Chairman, said that Air Dynasty chopper was mobilised for rescue operation. "Captain Adhikari is being flown to Mediciti Hospital for medical formalities,"he said, adding that Adhikari's condition was normal. The machine was damaged in the crash, he added.
