A memorial service was held in honor of David Breashears, a well-known mountaineer who had a significant impact on the lives of many Sherpas through his humanitarian projects in Nepal. "The memorial ceremony took place in the stunning surroundings of Aspen, Colorado, featuring elements such as blessing by Buddhist monk, stupa, prayer flags, incense burning, and beautiful weather, creating a serene atmosphere," said Kaji Sherpa, President at United Sherpa Association of Colorado, said. Members of the Sherpa community in Colorado also performed traditional Sherpa cultural dances as a tribute to David. "It was an honor to be part of such a heartfelt ceremony, and may David rest in peace knowing that the Sherpas will always hold him close in their hearts," Lhakpa Sherpa, Vice President of United Sherpa Association of Colorado, said. David Breashears's contribution to Nepal's mountaineering field is invaluable and appreciable and will continue to be. The movie Everest, produced by him, has helped to establish Nepal's separate image on the world map. Similarly, it is not possible to talk about the revenue he paid to the government of Nepal during the production of the film and the employment he gave to Nepalese people during the production of the film and tourist trips.
