Daman resort mulls closure The Hotel Everest Panorama Resort, a three-star hotel in Daman, is likely to be shut for ever due to the workers’ agitation. President and managing director of the hotel, Rabi Chandra Hamal, said that a process to close down the hotel had already been initiated. “There is no other alternative as the workers have been politicising every issue and shutting it down frequently,” he said. He added that the income of the hotel was not enough even to cover the electricity bills and the chances of it being closed had increased after the workers padlocked the hotel for the last one month. Workers of the resort have disrupted the hotel’s business stating that the management failed to meet their demands. The Maoist-affiliated All Nepal Hotel and Restaurant Workers’ Association has closed the hotel since December 15.
