Deepak wins Nine Ball Pool Championship

KATHMANDU: Deepak Thapa Magar of New Road Team defeated Saroj Mulmi of Exclusive Snooker 9-3 in the race-to-nine final of the Nine Ball Pool Championship organised by Fun World Nepal Recreation Centre

Deepak wins Nine Ball Pool Championship Deepak Thapa Magar of New Road Team defeated Saroj Mulmi of Exclusive Snooker 9-3 in the race-to-nine final of the Nine Ball Pool Championship organised by Fun World Nepal Recreation Centre under the sponsorship of Everest Beer and IMU International, here on Friday. Prakash Sherchan beat Shishir Gurung 7-3 in the race-to-seven third-place playoff. Deepak received Rs 20,000 while Mulmi bagged Rs 10,000. Sherchan and Gurung got Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively. Earlier, in the race-to-seven quarter-finals, Deepak beat Suraj Maharjan 7-4; Mulmi defeated Tashi Tsering 7-6; Shishir outplayed Ramesh Rana 7-4; and Sherchan overwhelmed Ajay Maharjan 7-2. The losing quarter-finalists also received Rs 1,000 each. Rashmi Bahadur Shrestha, the oldest player of the tournament, and the two lady participants were honoured with gift hampers and certificate. Kailash Sapkota, MD, IMU International; Bharat Kumar Shakya, GM, Nepal Recreation Centre; and Satendra Shrestha, operational manager, Fun World, gave away prizes to the winners.
