EBL opens 17th branch in Itahari

EBL opens 17th branch in Itahari Kathmandu, September 19: In an endeavour to provide banking facilities to a well spread out section of the society, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) has expanded its presence by opening its 17th branch at Itahari, Sunsari. Shiva Raj Shrestha, chief manager of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Biratnagar inaugurated the branch at a function yesterday. Applauding the performance of the bank over the years, Shrestha expressed his appreciation for following the NRB guidelines meticulously. “We at EBL have always endeavoured to enrich and beautify lives through our innovative products and services suiting the needs and requirement of our customers. With this objective, we have come to serve the people of Itahari” said DVSSV Prasad, executive director, EBL. Tirtha Gautam, president of Itahari Chamber of Commerce and Industry, congratulated the bank for opening its branch in Itahari. He underlined the need to spread banking services to rural areas for encouraging banking habits among individuals who have been deprived of quality services and diversified products of commercial banks. Established in 1994, EBL started its operations with its first branch at New Baneshwar, Katmandu and now it has presence at Lazimpat, New Road, Pulchowk, Satungal, Teku, Butwal, Bhairahawa, Birgunj, Simara, Biratnagar, Duhabi, Dhangadhi, Janakpur and Pokhara. With an objective of establishing professional banking standards, EBL joined hands with Punjab National Bank (PNB), the largest public sector bank in India as it’s joint venture partner in 1997. EBL is one of the fastest growing private banks, serving its valued customers through a network of 17 branches and over 250 correspondents, around the globe. All major branches are interconnected through Anywhere Branch Banking Systems (ABBS), a facility which enables its customers to do banking transactions from any of these branches, irrespective of their having accounts in another branch.
