KATHMANDU:The Rotary Club of Mount Everest, Lalitpur jointly with Rotary Club of Kathmandu Metro and Rotary Club of Jawalakhel-Manjushree, has concluded the first Ethics Symposium. The symposium was conducted at two levels. The first level of symposium was conducted at the Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk, Lalitpur; Kathmandu Engineering College, Kalimati, and Sadhana Kala Kendra, Putalisadak, where over 57 bachelor-level students participated in 500-word essay competition. Nine students, winners of the first level competition, were invited to participate in the second level free speech competition. The competitors delivered their speeches based on the seven sub-themes. It was a first event of this kind celebrated in Nepal and dedicated to Global Ethics Day, observed on October 16, as per a media release. The organisers believe that the new creed of young volunteers created are the ambassadors who will dedicate themselves for promoting high ethical standards in the professional and business life, and encourage new generation.
