Everest Bank, Nepal Telecom win KATHMANDU: Everest Bank and Nepal Telecom won the inaugural day matches of the UWTC Inter-corporate Twenty20 Cricket Tournament here at the Tundikhel grounds today. Everest Bank registered a thrilling five-run win over Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) while Nepal Telecom eased to a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Casino Royale. Electing to bat first, Everest scored a massive 142-5 in the rain-shortened 15-over-a-side match. In reply, BoK made 137-6 in their allotted overs. Man of the match Swastik Shrestha scored a magnificent 68 off 46 balls, hitting seven fours and four sixes. Bishal Dahal chipped in 14-ball 24 with two sixes and as many fours. Prashant Mishra, Ananta Raj Ghimire and Bijay Kumar Gurung took one wicket each for BoK. BoK fell six runs short of their 143-run target with Pramath Shah contributing 48 runs. Shah struck six boundaries and a six in his 32-ball knock. Abhaya Rana and Rajendra Neupane also scored 28 runs each. Diwash Sapkota and Santosh Shrestha claimed one wicket apiece for Everest Bank. In the other match, Casino Royale managed just 105-6 in 20 overs before Nepal Telecom surpassed the total losing two wickets in 12.5 overs. Prem Chand top scored for Casino Royale with 22 runs while Takendra Rawal (13), Bikarna Rana (10) and Hari Joshi (10) also chipped in valuable runs. Sudeep Sharma (2-9) and Pradeep Khatiwoda (2-18) were the pick of the Nepal Telecom bowlers. In reply, Naresh Budhayer scored an explosive half century to ease Nepal Telecom's run chase. Budhayer struck five fours and four sixes on his way to 59 off 33 deliveries. Binit Sharma scored unbeaten 26 off 30 that included three hits to the fence. Takendra Rawal and Ram Joshi claimed one wicket each for Casino Royale.
