Federation of Nepalese Journalist issued a press statement on Thursday condemning the government authorities deputed at Everest Base Camp for expelling BBC correspondent, Charles Haviland, and his assistant producer, Ishwore Rauniyar, in the region. The Ministry of Tourism,
Culture and Civil Aviation’s behaviour towards the journalists was against free press and against liberty and freedom of expression, the journalists’ organisation said in the press statement.
The FNJ has urged the government to immediately roll back its anti-independent press decision.
