For those blessed with love... After a whole day’s transaction of wishes, exchange of pleasantries, chocolates and roses, finally, love angels were in the look for a perfect hang out which could help wind up the day that lovers revere the most in a lovely and exuberant manner. Though the city offered venues aplenty, Galaxy Discotheque at the Everest Hotel turned out to be another perfect crowdpuller on February 14. While stepping into the hotel at around 9:30 pm, I was bumped into the resident DJ Ankit of Galaxy at the lobby only. “It has just started to catch the rhythm,” shared DJ Ankit adding, “I will take my seat in a while”. As I was ushered into the disco dungeon, the atmosphere was perfect to suit the day (night?) with red-coloured, heart-shaped balloons floating from one corner to another. The love songs that anyone would have sung for his/ her valentine were in the air and youngsters trying out their dancing skills on the dance floor. But to every one’s surprise, the event organised to mark the Valentine’s Day saw most of the youngsters dancing alone, the only accompanying partner being music. Maybe, some might have been in an attempt to woo someone. Of course there were some lovebirds enjoying the music shaking their booty at the dance floor and wandering around hand in hand. One of the major highlights of the event as was touted was the presence of Miss Nepal 2004 and it was a long wait for those who were anticipating to meet her and propose to her on the sidelines of one of the contests incorporated into the event. The entry of Payal Shakya, Miss Nepal 2004, for sure created uproar to a crowd that was swaying hips on the dance floor. “It’s nice to be here and the event definitely is in the full swing,” shared Shakya before she jumped onto the dance floor. Queued up cupids expressed their adoration for Miss Nepal in their own style — some even recited ‘shayaris’ to impress Miss Nepal. Also present were some of the beautiful models at the podium, which kept the crowd vibrant.
