Grieving wife pleads for justice Uma Shah, wife of Narayan Bahadur Shah, who died while undergoing treatment in Bir Hospital on Saturday, said today that the peaceful protest launched by relatives of the dead would continue unless the guilty was punished and adequate compensation paid to the bereaved. At a press conference, Shah accused the Everest Nursing Home of being negligent in his husband’s treatment and spreading rumours that her family threatened to kill the doctor who treated her husband. “My family did not threaten to kill the doctor involved in the treatment,” she said, adding, “All we are fighting for is justice.” Shah added that they would continue their peaceful protest for justice unless the guilty was punished and relief provided to her family. President of the Nepal Medical Association Dr Chop Lal Bhusal said some people with personal interests might indulge in violence during the peaceful protest.
