Honorary Consul for Seattle in Washington State, AC Sherpa has announced his candidacy for the post of vice-president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).

Issuing a statement on Wednesday, Sherpa said that he wanted to lead the organisation to maintain its transparency, financial discipline and resource development as well as to address other cross-cutting issues. "My goal would be to promote NRNA as well as to deepen the ties between the American people and Nepali communities residing in America," he shared. A resident of Solukhumbu district, Sherpa is a mountaineer and has already scaled all the highest peaks in seven continents including the Mt Everest. He has also been serving the needy communities in remote areas through the 7 Summit Foundation. For 2021-2023, NRNA is going to elect a new 39-member executive committee, which is also called International Coordination Council, virtually next month.
