Nivesh Karki, Director at Pioneer Adventure Treks, said that 16-year-old Padakanti Vishwanath Karthikey from Hyderabad, India stood atop Mt Everest at around 5:30am today.
"With this ascent, Vishwanath Karthikey has now completed all seven highest peaks in seven continents," Karki said, adding that the teenager became the youngest person to achieve the feat.
Born on 30th October 2008, Karthikey climbed Denali, North America's tallest peak as well as Mount Vinson, the highest peak in Antarctica, last year.
According to Kaki, Karthikey is the youngest person to summit Europe's highest peak Mt Elbrus in 24 hours. Similarly, he also climbed Kilimanjaro in Africa, Kosciuszko in Australia last year and Aconcagua in Argentina early this year to complete his seven summits bid.
"Karthikey is part of the Pioneer Adventure Everest Expedition this season," Karki informed.
