India's National Cadet Corps' team scales Mt Everest

A team from India’s National Cadet Corps (NCC) Boys and Girls Everest Expedition successfully summited Mt Everest (8,848.86 metres) this morning.

A team from India's National Cadet Corps (NCC) Boys and Girls Everest Expedition successfully summited Mt Everest (8,848.86 metres) this morning. 5 Ukrainian, 4 Sherpa climbers complete Everest-Lhotse traverse Legendary climber Sanu Sherpa, others scale Everest as summit bids underway The team, managed by Seven Summit Treks, included 38 climbers and Sherpa guides, all of whom reached the summit of the world's highest peak, informed Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Expedition Director at Seven Summit Treks. According to Dawa Sherpa, the climbers from India who made it to the top include Rajneesh Joshi, Balkar Singh, Ankhur Rawat, Jogmaith Namgyal, Deepak Kumar, Dawa Tseten Bhutia, Rigzin Dorjai, Kritika Sharma, Pratima Rai, Rifiness Warjri, Monika, Abida Afreen, Mohit Knathia, Padma Namgail, Mukul Bangwal, Virendra Singh Samanat, and Sachin Kumar. Dawa Sherpa also confirmed that several Nepali Sherpa guides accompanying the expedition team successfully reached the summit. The Sherpa climbers include Jenjen Lama, Sonam Chhiring Lama, Ngang Dorchi Bhote, Suku Bahadur Tamang, Lakpa Dorchi Bhote, Pasang Ongdi Sherpa, Dawasange Sherpa, Phinjo Nuppa Bhote, Ngudu Sherpa, Lakpa Bhote, Jojo Bhote, Dev Bhote, Chhebi Bhote, Lakpa Wongdi Sherpa, Chhiring Nuppa Bhote, Pimba Bhote, Thunang Bhote, Lakpa Rinjin Sherpa, Ngima Finjho Bhote, Phurtenji Sherpa, and Pema Rinje Sherpa. Titled the NCC Boys and Girls Mount Everest Expedition 2025, the team included 10 cadets-five boys and five girls-selected from across India. Several Indian Army personnel were also part of the expedition. The mission was led by Colonel Amit Bisht, a decorated mountaineer and serving officer in the Indian Army, who had previously summited Everest in 2021. The expedition was carried out in collaboration with Seven Summit Treks, Sherpa said.
