Kathmandu Utsav-2062, an annual mega consumer goods expo, is being organised here from September 29 to October 8 at Bhrikuti Mandap exhibition ground. Organised by Everest Events and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd since last 11 years, the exhibition-cum-sale event has been successful in bringing all kinds of consumer goods and other requirements under a single roof on the eve biggest Nepali festival Dashain. The 10-day long Kathmandu Utsav will be a perfect destination for Dashain shopping, entertainment and many more, said Bha-skar Raj Rajkarnicar, executive chairman of Everest Exhibitions. The event will sho-wcase the daily household goods such as foods, garments, home appliances, consumer electronics and many others. Other attractions of the event include ‘Lok Dohori’ (folk duet song) performance by 20 different groups and live band concert programme. For this, about 40 pop musical bands are performing, adds the release. Daily fashion show - Kathmandu Utsav’s Face and Fashion House 05’ is expected lure more shoppers at the event, Rajkarnicar said.
He also informed that five prominent Nepali women entrepreneurs — Ambika Shrestha, Shyam Badan Shrestha, Shanti Chadda, Chandra Kala Subba and Yankila Sherpa — will be felicitated with ‘Utsav Samman’ for their tireless efforts in entrepreneurship development in the country. He informed the event would be showcasing latest and quality products with special offers. The entry fee has been fixed at Rs 30 and it includes a free packet of Wai Wai Quick noodle.
