EVEREST BASE CAMP, MAY 12 A renowned British climber scaled the world's highest mountain for the 18th time breaking his own record for the most Mt Everest summits by any foreign climber. Record-holder climber Kami Rita ascending Sagarmatha for the 29th time Himalayan Climate Boot Camp 2024 taking science journalists to Everest Base Camp According to base camp officials, Kenton Cool from Gloucestershire, South West England, also broke his own British record for the most summits of the world's highest peak. Kenton along with Dorji Gyaljen Sherpa reached the summit point at around 8:30am, said officials. Dorji Gyaljen also made it to the top of Everest for 22 times. They were part of the Furtenbach Adventures Everest Expedition this season. Kenton and Dorji Gyaljen reached the summit point guiding British twins - Chris and Graham Parrot, according to officials. "We are awaiting confirmation for the twins," officials said. Chris and Graham Parrot aim to become the first Brit twins to stand atop Mt Everest. Pasang Chhepal Sherpa and Fursona Sherpa are also there in the Kenton's team. Kenton, 51, holds a record of the first British mountaineer who climbed Mt Nuptse, Mt Everest and Mt Lhotse in a season in 2013. Kenton had made it to the top of Mt Lhotse in less than 29 hours after scaling the world's highest peak in 2021.
