Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha stated that Swang died after slipping and falling at Khumbu Pasang Lhamu rural municipality-4 on March 11 while returning from climbing the Island Peak. Police reported that he fell approximately two meters from the trail. DSP Shrestha mentioned that Swang's body was airlifted to Lukla and has been sent to the TU Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu, after completing the legal procedures for a post-mortem examination.
