A Canadian woman climber successfully scaled Mt Dhaulagiri becoming the oldest female to have reached the summit point of the 8,167-metre peak at around 10:18 am.

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 29 A Canadian woman climber successfully scaled Mt Dhaulagiri becoming the oldest female to have reached the summit point of the 8,167-metre peak at around 10:18 am. According to Pemba Sherpa, Managing Director at 8K Expeditions, Liliya Ianovskaia stood atop Mt Dhaulagiri at the age of 64 years, becoming the first Canadian woman to achieve such a feat. "She now becomes the world's oldest female to successfully scale Mt Dhaulagiri," Sherpa claimed. Liliya was accompanied by Mingma Dorchi Sherpa and Pem Nurbu Sherpa of 8K Expeditions to the summit point this morning, he added. Liliya, who climbed K2 last year becoming the oldest to scale the world's second highest peak, has now completed seven peaks above 8,000m. Including Dhaulagiri & Lhotse, this year Lilya successfully climbed Manaslu, Mt Everest, K2 & G-II with 8K Expeditions, Sherpa shared. Since 2019, Liliya has climbed Cho Oyu, Manaslu, Everest, K2 and G-II, Lhotse & Dhaulagiri.
