JHAPA: Police on Tuesday said they arrested a person on charges of fraud recently. The arrestee has been identified as Ved Prasad Pokharel (31) of Durgapur in Kankai Municipality-1. Pokharel as Mart had promised her to send an iPhone, a laptop and an iPod from the UK and even convinced her to deposit USD 2,000 at the Everest Bank, which Pokharel withdrew later, police added. Rai lodged a complaint at the Birtamode Area Police Office after she realised that she was being tricked. Pokharel has been handed over to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on Monday, informed DSP Keshav Kumar Thebe of the APO.
