KATHMANDU: A number of films made in Nepal will be screened at the Himalayan Film Festival in Amsterdam.
Among those is the 77-minute long documentary Sinkham Sachya Manang (Heavenly Place Manang). This film is one among 45 other Himalaya-based movies to be screened at the festival being held on February 10 and 11.
The documentary by Jaswant Dev Shrestha captures Manang’s breathtaking beauty. The other movies to be screened are Dancing Kathmandu, Hami Kunako Manchhe (We Corner People), Chulo Choli ra Banduk (A Stove, a blouse and a gun), Emerging Kingdom of Mustang, Electricity for the Sherpas — Modern Times at Mount Everest, among others.
This is the first international participation for Singham Sachya Manang, which was quite well received at home.
