KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 31 A team of skilled mountain guides has headed for the Mt Everest region to conduct a ground search for the missing French alpinists this afternoon. Search for three missing Alpinists underway Three French alpinists missing in avalanche near Amadablam According to Ang Norbu Sherpa, President at Nepal National Mountain Guides Association, record-holding mountain guides reached the Khumbu region to try to locate three French alpinists who were reportedly missing in an avalanche near Mt Amadabam. Highly-trained mountain guides including Mingma G, Vinayak J Malla, Ang Dawa Sherpa, Tsering Pemba Sherpa and Pemba Gyalzen Sherpa have already reached Lukla for a search mission, he added. A number of aerial searches were also conducted by Kailash helicopter to locate the incident site. The search mission is being coordinated by the French Embassy in Kathmandu, a source said. Sources said that the missing climbers might be a part of the Cholatse expedition.
