Mountain Mahilas make it to Mt Ama Dablam Solukhumbu, November 22 A team of women mountaineers under the banner of Mountain Mahila successfully scaled Mt Ama Dablam in the Mt Everest region. With many climbers attempting to climb the 6,812-metre peak in the autumn season, four women of Mountain Mahila expedition stood atop the mountain with a message of women empowerment, officials at the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation confirmed. According to him, the team had left for Lukla in the Mt Everest region in mid-October to begin climbing activities. Earlier, the team had also summited Island peak (6,188m), he said. Over 150 mountaineers obtained permit to climb Mt Ama Dablam in the autumn season, a DoT record shows.
