Mountaineer Pandit to scale the highest peak in Europe KATHMANDU:Mountaineer Sanjay Pandit, who is in a record setting spree in mountaineering, is going to ascend the highest peak in Europe, Mount Elbrus. Pandit is planning to observe the upcoming Nepali New Year on this mountain made out after a volcano eruption. Pandit, who is also an ultra marathon runner, is leaving for Russia to climb the 5,643-metre tall mountain located in the Caucasus mountain range. He has already ascended the highest peak in the world, Mount Everest, along with Mount Manaslu and the highest peak in Australia, Mount Kosciuszko, among others. In 2015, he also had set a record by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro backward. Pandit is aspiring to ascend all seven highest peaks of seven continents, collectively known as the Seven Summit.
