Nepal-Egypt ties hailed The Embassy of Nepal in Cairo yesterday organised a reception to celebrate the golden jubilee of establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Egypt and to welcome Omar Sherif Samara, the first Egyptian to scale the Mt Everest. President of National Council of Sports of Egypt Dr Hassan Sakre, and former Minister of Electricity and Energy of Egypt Maher Abaza attended the function, a press statement issued by the embassy today said. Similarly, President of Cairo Chamber of Commerce, chiefs of various business organisations, businessmen, diplomats, artists and intellectuals as well as members of the group Friends of Nepal were also present. Dr Sakre stated that the new chapter of Nepal-Egypt relations has now begun. Ambassador of Nepal to Egypt, Dr Rambhakta Thakur said that bilateral relations between Nepal and Egypt have been further consolidated with the success achieved by Samara.
