A Nepali climber died above Camp IV on Wednesday as he suffered from altitude sickness, expedition organiser said.
A Nepali climber died above Camp IV on Wednesday as he suffered from altitude sickness, expedition organiser said.
"Binod Babu Bastakoti from Pokhara died at around 8,300m, just above Camp IV, after he suffered from illness while descending from the summit point," Narbin Magar of Booking Own Pvt. Ltd said.
Bastakoti, who stood atop the mountain early Wednesday morning, obtained a climbing permit from Yeti Mountain Adventure, Magar said. "Bastakoti was our client but he chose to join other Sherpa guides from the high camp," Magar said.
Efforts are underway to bring his body from the high camp, he added.
