Nepali short movie 'Chiso Ghar' to show in Mumbai Film Festival

Nepali movie ‘Chiso Ghar’ has been selected for the world premiere at the Mumbai Film Festival, 2023. The festival will be organised from October 27 to November 5.

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 16 Nepali movie 'Chiso Ghar' has been selected for the world premiere at the Mumbai Film Festival, 2023. The festival will be organised from October 27 to November 5. The short film written and directed by Bidurshi Giri, who has obtained a diploma degree in film studies from the Everest Film Academy, has been selected for the world premiere. The 11-minute long movie is based on social issues."I am excited that my first work has been selected for an international festival. Along with exchanging knowledge and gaining experience with filmmakers from all over the world, I am ready to watch the film there and get feedback on my film," said director Giri. "The film has been selected under the 'Focus South Asia' category," she said. Sonika Shahi Thakuri, Sarita Giri, Lokendra Lekhak, Subash Bamjan and Mariya Karki have acted in the film. The film 'Gaun Aayeko Bato' is undergoing 'South Asia Premier' in the festival. Similarly, 'The Red Suitcase' and 'Gurans' are competing under the South Asia competition. The film 'Bahadur: The Brave' directed by Diwa Shah is also in the competition. In the category of short films, Ayarus Poudel's 'Helena' and 'Windhorse' are also competing. It is said that the festival is expected to support Nepali films for their internationalisation. A total of 250 films from 70 countries are competing in the festival.
