A 17-year-old Nepali climber has added yet another feather to his cap as he successfully scaled the world's 11th highest peak in Pakistan this morning. "Nima Rinji Sherpa from Sankhuwasabha successfully stood atop G1 (8,080m) at around 6:10 am local time," said Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Expedition Director at Seven Summit Treks. According to SST Director Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, Nima Rinji successfully ascended the peak at the age of 17 years and 90 days, which makes him the youngest climber ever to do so. Nima Rinji and his climbing partner Pasang Nurbu were part of the SST Expedition when they scaled G1, he added. Nima Rinji has also become the world's youngest climber to have scaled G1. He scaled Nanga Parbat on June 26 becoming the youngest climber to have scaled the mountain. Earlier in the last spring season, Nima also set the world record on Mount Everest and Lhotse at the youngest age by climbing double headers (8000ers) at 17 years 35 days on 24 May within 10 hours. In 2022, Nima from the Seven Summit Treks and 14 Peaks Expedition, set the world after becoming the youngest person in the world to have scaled Mt Manaslu real summit. Nima Rinji is on a mission to become the youngest climber to complete all 14 peaks above 8,000m. "He will attempt to scale three remaining peaks – G2, K2 and Broad Peak – in Pakistan this season," Tashi Lakpa said.
