Nims Purja completes all 14 peaks without O2 in record 2.5 yrs

Celebrated climber Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja today scaled Mt Shishapangma becoming the fastest climber in the world to complete all 14 peaks above 8,000 m without using bottled oxygen.

Without using oxygen in 2022, Nims climbed Mt Kanchenjunga on May 07, Mt Everest on May 27 and Lhotse on May 28. In 2023, he also made it to the summit of Annapurna on 15 April and Mt Makalu on June 05 without using O2. Last year in October, he made it to the summit of Cho Oyu in Tibet. In just 26 days in 2023 (June - July), he made the fastest ascent of 5 peaks – Nanga Parbat, K2, Broad Peak, G1, and G2 in Pakistan without using oxygen support.
