Olympic torch on Everest! The Olympic torch may be heading to the top of the world in 2008. Organisers of the Beijing games said on Friday a panel of experts are discussing the possibility of having the torch carried up Mount Everest. “Passing the everlasting flame to the world’s highest mountain is a way for us to reach heights never reached before,” said Zhu Jing, a spokeswoman for Beijing’s Olympic organising committee. Zhu said the experts were planning out a possible route, which will be submitted by 2006.
