Online health service launched for mountaineers in Everest region SOLUKHUMBU:The mountaineers and trekkers travelling along the Lukla-Everest Base Camp route will now be able to receive free medical advice online. Any health problems that the mountaineers suffer would be addressed online. With the availability of Wi-Fi along the section, Everest Link now has offered a free online medical service for travellers. The service has been provided in cooperation with two hospitals based in Kathmandu and one in Khumbu, said Chief Executive Officer of the Everest Link,  Tshering Gyaljen Sherpa. Those in need of consultation from doctors can make a video call by logging in to the page of the Everest Link. After connecting to the router, the call will be forwarded automatically to the mobile phone of the concerned doctor. Thereafter the doctor can advise the patient to deal with the problem. Approximately, 100,000 tourists including 35,000 foreigners are permitted to scale the peak every year, according to available data.
