KATHMANDU:The Nepal Chapter of Everest World Class Taekwondo Association is organising the first Everest National Open Taekwondo Tournament from Wednesday. Around 1,200 players from across the country will take part in the three-day tournament that features 100 each gold and silver medals and 200 bronze medals, informed Association’s Nepal Chapter President Keshav Thapa at a press meet on Monday. The tournament features four categories — senior, junior, cadet and poomsae. The top two teams of the tournament will receive Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively, while the two best players — one each in men and women sections — will earn Rs 10,000 each. All the participants of the tournament will have one-year health insurance. The Everest World Class Taekwondo Association, based in the United States, will host the tournament in 2020, while the next edition will be held in Nepal.
