Over 200 tourists stuck at Lukla as bad weather affects flights
SOLUKHUMBU:More than 200 tourists have been stuck at Lukla of Solukhumbu district in eastern Nepal after flights have been affected due to bad weather.
All scheduled flights are being cancelled due to torrential rainfall and dense fog for the past 11 days, according to Phu Nuru Sherpa, in-charge of the Tara Airlines, at Lukla.
At least five to six flights used to operate from Lukla, also called gateway to Mt Everest, on a daily basis.
Flights to and from Phaplu Airport near the district headquarters, Salleri, have also been cancelled due to bad weather.
