Nepal has collected more than Rs 770 million in mountaineering royalties during the ongoing spring climbing season, the Department of Tourism announced.
Nepal has collected more than Rs 770 million in mountaineering royalties during the ongoing spring climbing season, the Department of Tourism announced. As of Sunday, the total royalty revenue stands at Rs 773.59 million, with Mount Everest alone contributing Rs 676.09 million.

According to the Department's Mountaineering Division, 1,127 climbers - 240 women and 887 men - from 119 expeditions have obtained climbing permits for 26 peaks, including Mt Everest.
Director of the Department, Liladhar Awasthi, stated that Mt Everest continues to be the most popular, with 456 climbers (84 women and 372 men) from 45 expeditions receiving permits. Climbers from 57 countries have joined the ascent of the world's highest peak.
