At least two record-holding climbers have successfully scaled the world's highest peak just a day after the rope-fixing team stood atop Mt Everest. "Pasang Dawa and Marton Peter Price from Hungary reached the summit point at 9:06 am," he added. With today's ascent, Pasang Dawa equalizes a world record with Kami Rita Sherpa. "Pasang Dawa is the hidden gem of Nepalese climbers. He was born in Pangboche which is close to Everest and he grew up seeing Everest everyday. He has made it to the summit of Mt Everest for 26 times today,' Mingma Gyalje said. 'His Everest Summit are in 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004, twice in 2006, twice in 2007, 2008, 2009, twice in 2010, 2011, 2012, twice in 2013, 2016,2017, twice in 2018 and twice in 2019 and twice in 2022.' According to him, Naila Kiani became the first Pakistani woman to complete five peaks above 8,000 m after she stood atop Mt Everest this morning. Earlier, Naila scaled Annapurna, K2, GI and GII. "Naila and Pasang Temba Sherpa reached the summit point at 8:02 am," Mingma Gyalje said. Naila is a Dubai-based Pakistani banker, an amateur boxer and a mother of two daughters. Naila Kiani also becomes the first international climber to reach the summit of Mount Everest in the year 2023.
