KATHMANDU:Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club registered victories in the Dhorpatan National Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament here on Thursday. While the NPC laboured to a 3-2 victory over Western Region, the TAC won in straight set against Everest School of Butwal. NPC opened with a 25-23 victory before Western Region levelled the scores with a 25-20 win in the second set. The departmental side went ahead for the second time with a hard-fought 26-24 win in the third set, while Western Region won the fourth set 25-15. The NPC registered a 15-11 win in the final set for their ninth victory in the league. In another match, TAC defeated Everest 25-16, 25-18, 25-10. Nepal APF Club, the only unbeaten team so far, are at the top of the standing with 45 points from 15 matches, while New Diamond are second with 33 points. NPC are next with 27 points. Top two teams will earn Rs 260,000 and Rs 130,000 respectively.
