The Nepal Sports Journalists Forum announced the nominees of four categories of the Pulsar Sports Award here today.

Skipper Paudel lauds team effort
Cricketers Kushal Bhurtel and Dipendra Singh Airee have been nominated in the male category along with national football team skipper Kiran Kumar Limbu and striker Anjan Bista and badminton player Prince Dahal.
National team captain Rubina Chhetri and former vice-captain Sita Rana Magar, national volleyball team skipper Aruna Shahi, boxer Punam Rawal and athlete Pushpa Bhandari made it to the women's section nominations.
Likewise, footballers Manish Dangi and Preeti Rai, boxer Chhiring Wangdi Sherpa, badminton player Rasila Maharjan and volleyball player Usha Bhandari were named as nominees in youth category, whereas Deepak Maharjan (boxing), Abdullah Almutairi (football), Kabiraj Negi Lama (para-taekwondo), Dav Whatmore (cricket) and Jagdish Bhatta (volleyball) have been nominated in coach category.
The nominees were picked up by the five-member selection committee headed by NSJF Secretary Anjan Khadka. Earlier, the committee had announced footballer Anjan Bista, cricketer Aasif Sheikh, volleyball player Usha Bhandari, swimmer Duana Lama and tennis player Abhilasha Bista as the nominees in people's choice category.
The Pulsar Sports Award, which features a total of nine categories, is slated for March 7 at Nepal Academy. The winners of male, female, youth, people's choice and coach categories will receive pulsar motorcycles, while the winners of special, lifetime achievement, Asian sports journalist and para-athlete categories will get Rs 50,000 each.
