According to Dreamers Destination Treks & Expedition, Raj along with record-holding climbers Phurba Tenjing and his brother Nima Gyalzen Sherpa stood atop the roof of the world on May 18.
"Nima Gyalzen, who has scaled all 14 peaks above 8,000m, also made it the 12th ascent on Mt Everest this season," Phurba, who is also the Managing Director at Dreamers Destination Treks, told THT after returning from the summit point. The team had also successfully summited Lobuche Peak (6,119m), as their preparatory climb.
Raj is not only a successful entrepreneur based in Hong Kong but also the first Nepali businessman from the city to summit Mount Everest - a feat achieved through sheer determination, personal sacrifice, and an unrelenting love for the mountains, according to Phurba.
Raj was accompanied and assisted throughout his journey by Vinod Gurng, Suraj Gurung and Nirmal Shrestha. Weather updates were closely monitored and provided by Rojita Buddhacharya, Davide Peluzzi, and Josef Enwaller, while Ashok Gurung handled expedition communications, according to Phurba
