Rope-fixing team reaches Balcony, to summit Everest tomorrow

Mingma Gyalje Sherpa, Managing Director at Imagine Nepal Treks, told THT from the base camp that a four-member team of Sherpa climbers opened a climbing route up to 8,430m.

A team of climbers from Imagine Nepal Treks reached balcony area below the summit point opening a route from South Col this evening. The team had opened climbing route up to South Col on April 23. "Everest fixing team is making progress, and the first team of four sherpas completed their work and reached the Balcony at approximately 8430 meters. The second team headed towards Balcony to fix the line from Balcony to the South summit." First team along with a photographer will join the second team at South Summit and climb together to the summit point, Mingma G said.
