Indian climber dies on Mt Kanchenjunga Himalayan Climate Boot Camp team returns from tough Everest terrains According to sources at the Everest base camp, Pavel Kostrikin breathed his last at around 7:15pm on Saturday when he fell ill at Camp I. The same sources added that he died of altitude sickness while making rotations for the Everest summit push. Bad weather hampered efforts to conduct aerial rescue throughout the day yesterday, it has been learnt. Once weather permits, his mortal remains will be airlifted to Kathmandu, as per base camp officials. Pavel was a part of the expedition handled by Seven Summit Club. Most of the climbers have been preparing for the summit pushes on Mt Everest as an 11-member Sherpa team opened the climbing route to the top of the world on Saturday evening. Note: Location corrected to Camp I, replacing previously mentioned Camp II
