Sanghai wins charity golf title
Shailesh Sanghai won the title of the fourth “We Are All Able” Charity Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.
Played under stable ford 3/4 handicap format, Sanghai earned 38 points to win the trophy along with return ticket to Singapore from of SilkAir. Pavitra Kumar Karki came second with 37 points.
Tashi Tshiring won the gross section title with 36 gross points, while former Chief of the Army Staff Gaurav SJB Rana claimed the senior category award with 34 points. Likewise, Rekha Ghimire bagged the women’s section title with 27 points, whereas Mayank Dahal was the best among junior golfers scoring 33 points.
Similarly, Vijay Shrestha Einhaus claimed the most birdies award with four birdies. Surendra Phuyal won the longest drive award and Sunil Khanal claimed the closest-to-the-pin award.
A total of 54 golfers participated in the tournament organised by Ability Development Society of Nepal (ADSoN) for the benefit of Persons with Disabilities. ADSoN raised Rs 500,000 from the event. President of ADSoN RR Pandey, Executive Director Nirmala Gyawali, Captain of Gokarna Golf Club Joseph Nathan, Justice Anil Kumar Sinha, President of TRIFC Robert Rose, Board Member Gina Rose and SilkAir Country Manager Qingyi Chen handed over the prizes to the winners.
The event was supported by Gokarna Golf Club, Laxmi Bank, Himalayan Bank, Gorkha Brewery, Everest Express, Four Seasons Travels, NIC Asia Bank, Kathmandu Medical College, Sri Investment and Finance Company, Silk Air, Buddha International Travels and Tours, Meghabyte Travels and Mountain Hardwear.
