A renowned climber from Sangkhuwasabha successfully scaled Mt Makalu this morning becoming the only climber to make double ascent on 13 of 14 peaks above 8,000m.

"Sanu along with Mingma Dorchi Sherpa, Director at Pioneer Adventures created history by scaling Makalu," he said. Climbers including Khai Van Nguyen – USA, Savita Kanswal – India, Pasang Lhamu Sherpa Akita, Dandu Sherpa and Ang Chhongbi Sherpa also scaled Mt Makalu, according to Sherpa. Sanu will attempt to climb GII in Pakistan in summer season to complete all 14 peaks, Sherpa added.
