Sherpas recover body of Malaysian climber from Mt Ama Dablam KATHMANDU:A Malaysian climber has been found dead near camp II on Mt Ama Dablam (6,812 m) in the Mt Everest region, the expedition organiser said. According to Bodhraj Bhandari, Managing Director at Snowy Horizon Treks, a team of Sherpa rescuers recovered the body of Raman Nair Hachoodan, 41, who went missing from 6,300 m since May 15. “His body was recovered from a gorge at around 5,300 m,” he said. According to rescuers, the climber fell some 1,000 m down from the high camp after he along with two other climbers were returning to the lower camps while abandoning his summit bid due to bad weather. Raman’s father arrived Kathmandu to receive his body, Bhandari said, adding that doctors would carry out postmortem at the TU Teaching Hospital later this afternoon. Earlier, efforts to conduct search from ground and air went in vain due to freak weather, he added.
